This unofficial guide to the 2006 Taiji Legacy was created for students of Master Gohring.

Students Taking Workshops on Friday and Sunday

1. These do start on time.
2. Often they are in a very big room that is sectioned off. (You can see the other classes while taking your class.)
3. Wear your school t-shirt so that other people from the school whom you do not know can identify you and you can help each other out. (This is especially important if you decide to remember a form or routine after the class is over.)
4. Don't worry about actually remembering or learning a whole form when you take a class. Use the time to get introduced to another perspective on training.
5. Be careful not to be disillusioned about your ability and training. Instead, be inspired to train to a higher level. Some teachers will "blow you away" on how good they are. Some will disappoint you in how poorly they might teach or organize the class. You may not even be able to understand some of them because of a language barrier.
6. Be respectful, bow to the teacher.
7. Wear your black or blue t'ai chi or kung fu pants. Since the classes are usually on carpet, you may be more comfortable with running-type shoes than your t'ai chi and or kung fu cotton soled shoes.
8. Let the excitement of learning new stuff inspire you to practice your old stuff more.
9. Ask the teacher at least one question that you might have asked me before.
10. You do not need to wear your sash to the workshops.
11. You need to supply or buy your own weapon if you are taking a weapon workshop unless the description said otherwise.
12. Like some guidance on what workshops to take? Ask me and I can make suggestions for which ones you should take. The best way to do this is to print out the workshop list and show it to me in class. I can circle the one I think you should do.
