This unofficial guide to the 2006 Taiji Legacy was created for students of Master Gohring.

In General

1. Know that, even though they say it will start on time, it might start as much as two hours late.
2. Wear the black yin-yang school t-shirt as much as you can so other people from our school can see you easily and you can have someone else to share the experience with.
3. Come early for the tournament part and put stuff down to reserve your seat.
4. Bring extra money because there will always be something you've "got to have." (Remember that all equipment and uniforms you use in class must be purchased through the school so what you buy you can only use outside of class.)
5. Cash only and they don't give refunds.
6. Meet other practitioners and ask how long they have been training and with whom.
7. See the Masters demonstration.
8. I don't think food is allowed in the main tournament area unless you are a judge. People do bring snacks --power bars, etc -- in their backpacks and munch on them in their seats.
9. Bring swimsuits. Many people go for a late night swim on Saturday at the hotel pool.
10. You can buy a special pass that will allow you to videotape and there are tons worth video taping.

11. Find out approximately when and where students at the school will be competing and support them, watch them and cheer them on.
12. Don't miss the opening ceremonies with the Dragon and the Lion Dancing.
13. Many of the hotels have shuttle service, take advantage. Its a lot of fun being out of town to go or do something new, in a group or just with your family. Sometimes school members ride share or room share. This is easiest done with lots of advance notice, through the e-mail is good .
14. Respond to the e-vite, when I send it out. This can help everyone know who is going and who want to share rides or rooms.
15. The whole event is tons of fun; you are going to love it!!
