Dear Sifu:
T'ai Chi is a great way to work out without high impact movements, which was dramatically different then the way I was taught to exercise. I was always used to jumping around and involving a lot of movement when I took American Karate Classes and was so surprised to find that moving so little could be such a workout. This is a real workout, which definitely helps strengthen and tone muscles. The best things that came out of Tai Chi was the improvement in my posture and the stress relief. I felt better physically and mentally after each session and that helped my confidence too. While doing the movements I learned to concentrate and take my mind off of the stresses I had at school and it helped me see small problems as they were, trivial.
