Dear Sifu Gohring:
Over the past week, I've weighed the effects of my studies at your School. I looked at who I was a year and a half ago, when I enrolled, and who I am now. From my meditations, two major themes have revealed themselves: a greater appreciation of the present moment and an increased sense of self.
Choosing to practice T'ai Chi was the first thing I've ever done for myself. I really love the time I spend in class because as a result of my focus on the movements, the rest of the world disappears. I concentrate solely on what I am doing in that instant in time. Although I frequently have time alone, I achieve a different quality of introspection when I am practicing at the studio.
The lessons I have learned in regard to acknowledging "the now" have carried over to my life outside the classroom. I have a greater appreciation of each moment and after this year and a half, I have a better idea, than ever before, of who I am.
Sincererly,
Hilary S.
